The Sanyo eneloop Kairo portable hand-warming device fits easily into a pocket, purse, or backpack. The one-sided version features an internal Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, that Sanyo says can be recharged up to 500 times. The single-sided unit can be set to deliver temperatures ranging from 102°F-109°F (38°C-43°C) and takes around three hours to recharge. This gives users approximately three and a half to four hours of comfortable heat.
Meanwhile, the two-sided hand-warmer doubles as a battery-charger and includes 2AA eneloop rechargeable batteries (which can also be used in other devices). The aluminum body produces heat on both sides, from 102°F-115°F (38°C-46°C). The unit charges completely in 4.5 hours to provide one to three hours of warmth, depending on the setting.
The Sanyo eneloop hand-warmers are designed to maintain a warm, comfortable temperature for both indoor or outdoor activities. Perfect for watching a football game, skiing, hiking, walking outdoors, or just sitting indoors in a cold office environment, the hand-warmers expands Sanyo's offerings of eco-friendly eneloop rechargeable products.
The eneloop range of products is a series of "sustainable" items that were created based on the eneloop rechargeable battery, a Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable battery launched in November 2005 that combined the benefits of traditional dry cell batteries with rechargeables, coming pre-charged out of the package and able to be recharged up to 1,000 times. Sanyo has even released an eneloop bicycle.
The Sanyo eneloop Kairo KIR-SE1S (one-sided) is available in white or pink and retails for US$34.99, while the double-sided eneloop Kairo KIR-SL2S comes in silver and pink and retails for US$44.99.
